Youth Summer Camp

Where will students be staying?
Students will stay in cabins with other students and a dedicated cabin leader. Cabin leaders engage with students through daily discussions, prayer times, and activities to help them connect and grow.

Who will my student room with?
Our priority is placing students with their Life Group first. Students will be placed in rooms according to their gender and age group. While we will do everything we can to accommodate preferred cabin mates, specific roommate requests are not guaranteed.

What color team will we be?
The campground assigns team colors each year. We don’t know in advance, but every year we have been on the Green Team!

Will students need extra money?
Students may want to bring extra money for snacks and drinks from the camp café during free time.

What should students bring?
A packing list will be provided closer to camp, but essentials include clothing, toiletries, bedding, a Bible, and spending money for optional purchases.

Can campers with dietary restrictions bring their own food?
Yes, campers with dietary restrictions are allowed to bring their own food, which will be stored in the dining hall coolers. This food will only be available during staffed mealtimes.

Will there be food options available for campers with dietary restrictions or food allergies?
There will be a salad bar available at lunches and dinners, which can accommodate many dietary restrictions. However, we cannot guarantee that all meals will fully meet every dietary restriction or food allergy.

Can campers with dietary restrictions bring snacks?
Yes, campers are encouraged to bring snacks that do not need to be refrigerated, and they can keep them in their cabins.

Are there any “extra” foods always available for campers with food allergies?
Unfortunately, SLCC cannot accommodate all requests for special dietary restrictions and food allergies, especially for large groups. However, campers can bring their own food to meet their specific needs.

Can campers store their food in the dining hall?
Yes, campers can store their food in a cooler in the dining hall. The food must be clearly labeled with the camper's name.

Will the staff help with storing, cooking, or heating the food?
Campers will need to come with their cabin leader to help them warm their food in the microwave at the beginning or end of the line. The food must be clearly labeled for identification.

How much does camp cost?
Early Bird Pricing: $325 (Ends June 21 – full balance must be paid to keep this rate).
Regular Pricing: $355 (After June 21).

What is the Group Hold ID, and why do students need to register with it?
Group hold ID is: KENOJC
The Group Hold ID ensures students are placed with our church group for cabins, leaders, and transportation.

What if I do not use the Group Hold ID?
If your student is attending with Journey Church, a Group Hold ID will automatically be added. You will have the remaining balance due before camp to confirm your student's registration.

Why is the price different from the Spencer Lake Camp flyer?
The Group Hold ID includes an additional charge that covers transportation to and from camp as part of our church group.

When does Early Bird Pricing end?
June 21 is the absolute last day for Early Bird Pricing. Your full balance must be paid by this date to secure the lower rate.

When is the last day to register for camp?
Spots are first come, first serve and fill up quickly! Once the campground reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist.

What if I have trouble registering or logging in?

How do I apply for a scholarship?

When is the last day to apply for a scholarship?
The deadline to apply is June 11 – NO EXCEPTIONS.

How does the scholarship process work?

When will I know if my student received a scholarship?
Once all students have submitted their scholarship request by June 11, we will distribute scholarship funds evenly. Expect an email shortly after this date informing you of the amount your student has been awarded.

Why is there a scholarship minimum?
Due to high demand and our goal of helping as many students as possible, we require a minimum contribution from families receiving scholarships. This allows us to stretch our scholarship funds and provide financial assistance to as many students as possible.

What should I do if my child needs to take medication during their camp stay?
Students must bring any necessary medication with them for the duration of their camp stay. Medication will be checked in at the time of drop-off at our check-in table. The camp nurse will store the medication in the designated medical area.

When will my child take their medication?
Students are responsible for going to the medical area to take their medications at the designated times.

How will my child be reminded to take their medication?
Cabin leaders will receive a medication roster with times for students in their cabin and will help remind them to take their medications.
